The Tells tool

A Tell is a behavior or reflex that shows up when your brain is trying to create safety - especially during stress, uncertainty, or change.

It might look like procrastination, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or micromanaging… but it’s actually a signal that your brain is trying to get one of its SAFE needs met.

When to Use This Tool:

  • You’re upset, angry, or feeling off

  • You’re overwhelmed or you want to shut down

  • You're stuck in a pattern you’ve outgrown

  • You keep saying yes when you want to say no

  • You find yourself doomscrolling instead of working or resting
