Sherry Richards, Higley USD
Ms. Sherry Richards is the Superintendent of Higley Unified School District, where she leads with a commitment to student success, innovation, and community engagement. Since joining HUSD in 2011 as an elementary school administrator, she has steadily advanced, serving as Executive Director of Elementary Education in 2017, Associate Superintendent in 2021, and ultimately Superintendent.
Prior to her tenure in Arizona, Ms. Richards worked as an educator of the deaf and hearing impaired, an instructional coach, and an administrator in Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Habilitation of the Deaf from Texas Christian University, a Master of Science in Education Administration from West Texas A&M and earned her Superintendent Certification through Northern Arizona University.
A dedicated advocate for student achievement, leadership development, and educational best practices, Ms. Richards has spearheaded strategic initiatives that foster growth, cultivate a positive culture, and strengthen community partnerships. She is passionate about empowering future leaders - both students and educators - by fostering an environment where innovation, collaboration, and excellence thrive. As a woman in leadership, Ms. Richards has been a strong advocate for mentoring emerging women leaders. She believes that advocacy, strong relationships, and working through adversity are the drivers of success.
Nicole Lance, Lance Strategies
Nicole Lance is an internationally certified coach best known for her humorous approach to working with individuals and teams who are ready to make courageous transformations. With six years of nonprofit work and 13 years in local government before wrapping up her career as an Assistant City Manager, Nicole now spends her time coaching, speaking, facilitating, and leading women's leadership development programs.
